1 Day Meat Sale Friday 2/21 at Glendale Heights, Arlington Hts & Hoffman Estates Stores I was talking to the cashier and she was not sure what the sale was going to be but she said that they did a meat sale in Rockford and some meats were 50% from what she heard.

Has anyone seen what the prices are on meat? Is it worth going?

I went to the GH one, it was packed. I couldn't find a parking spot I must have been in a mood to not spend money, as I did not see anything that seemed like that great of a price. They did have 2.5 pounds of frozen chix breasts in a bag for 3.49, which was tempting. Though Mary (boyz r us) showed me the sodium count is really high. She said you ahve to soak them in milk to get rid of so much salt, which really takes away the value of the bag I decided since I really did not have a lot of money, to not impulse buy, walk away and I will think about going after my cub scout meeting. Maybe it will not be so crowded and I will see bargains

I got lucky - they must have found a box in the back as they were wheeling it out. Very nice fellow said they saved it just for me.

Arlington Heights lady didnt like that my total was $26.xx after coupons considering the milk and bacon, because those had a $25 purchase requirement BEFORE milk/bacon appparently.
So I had to add in something else. I was in a rush to get back home and I had all three kids along so I did not shop as well as I ought to have but got
2 EE bacon 2 gal milk 2 cream cheese 1 bottle strawberry syrup (KIDS) 1 bag of chips (KIDS) 3 lbs of salami 1 rack of babyback ribs 1 3 lb bag of cuties
Used 4 ee coupons, realized on the way home I shoulv'e used 5. Paid $30ish.
I guess it was a decent deal. I was mostly frustrated at the end because I realized I had forgotten the chicken legs but instead grabbed oranges because kids wanted them and they were closer to grab when I needed something to get my total up higher.

I didn't think the meat prices were all that great. $2.46 a lb for ground chuck 80%, I have seen better. Some of the steaks seemed good, but you had to buy in mongo packs and I overheard another shopper say, "I am not buying that, they go on sale for that price all the time and I can buy them singly them." I didn't know about the EE bacon price. Shoot, I would have stocked up on that!!

There were a couple of other meats I wanted, but by the time I got there they only had huge packs left. Not sure what I'd do with 6lb of pork loin. So even at $1.69 lb it isn't a deal if I have to throw half of it out.

I would buy loin and slice it into chops. That is a good price.
