What a beautiful day! Windows open, grill is fired up with the first BBQ chicken of the season. Not very Eastery, but that's ok.

Tonight is goat cheese and roasted tomato ravioli. Not too many choices since I had to throw almost all of our refrigerated items out yesterday. Also, not very Easter-y, we had our Easter dinner yesterday when the family could all be together. I would love a nice salad to go along with the ravioli.

Time to get back in the habit of cooking. I slacked off last week. We're eating what's in stock & avoiding the grocery store this week.

So, I have a huge section of pork shoulder left from the $.99/lb Jewel sale that I'm using for the pork tacos & the BBQ pork. I want to cook it in the crock pot & then add BBQ or taco seasoning. How should I cook it in the crock pot? Just in water?

How should I cook it in the crock pot? Just in water? I'd put some onions in it (will release liquid) & coat in oil. I would think it would dry out if you just did water. Or maybe use chicken broth.

Leftover smoked chicken from Saturday night with assorted leftover Easter goodies. Smoked it myself on my Weber.

Good idea, CC! Onions would be good. I'll have to see if I have chicken broth. (Bad couponer lately!)

How should I cook it in the crock pot? Just in water? I usually apply pork BBQ rub, put some sliced onions on top. There is quite a good amount of fat in a pork shoulder, so no additional liquid is needed. Cook on low in the crock pot for a good 8 or 12 hours. Pull it out and shred~ so easy and good!

Just saw that someone (dh) ordered enough Chinese food Friday night to feed an army. Yay for leftovers tonight! I don't know what he was thinking, but I'm glad he did, lol!

So you don't add liquid at all, jubes? No I don't...when it cooks, I end up with 1-2 inches of liquid in the crock pot from the pork shoulder.
