I saw a sign for this the other day and wondered how well it worked. I tried it once at Walmart and had to stand in the long customer service line to pick up what I ordered and it took FOREVER. Now it was Walmart and it was awhile ago, maybe it's better.
I just want to know how well it works at Kohl's or if it's really a waste of time. I need to get a few things for son #3's birthday and usually the store doesn't have many men's size small, so this would work well.
Thanks.

Ok, I ordered and it was ready for pickup in 2 hours. I plan to pick up tomorrow morning. Will give you a report on that experience.

I didn't know that either! Hope it's a quick pick up for you. I have a $10/$30 that expires today. Going to look now....

Never done it either. Only ordered from home and shipped to home or ordered from kiosk and shipped to home.

I read that they are testing it out at certain stores. What I found is that not everything is available in the store even if it doesn't say ONLINE ONLY. So maybe that Fila shirt in red size small doesn't say ONLINE ONLY but it's not available, but the blue small one is. Made the shopping for the Men's small stuff a pain, but I'm willing to go through that if I don't have time to wait for their shipping which is soooo slow.
More later....

I didn't see the ship to store option & decided saving $10 off of $30 of stuff we don't really need is wasting $20. I was going to order dh new sweatpants, but volleyball ended on Friday for him, so that can wait until fall.

I have a couple of times. Hate the return process if something doesn't work. Prefer using JCPenney online ship to store.

Ok, I did it this morning. They do have a special parking spot which is next to the handicap, so that was convenient with the cold. I had to walk to the back of the store to the customer service area. Then I had to wait while she went into some special part of the computer system. She scanned my bar code on the receipt and then had to scan the clothes. I had to show my driver's license.
One thing that bugged me was that my items weren't prebagged. They were just tossed into a bin and then I had to tell her how many items I had. Not a big deal since they were the only ones, but I can see problems with that, your stuff getting mixed up with someone else or the employee having to dig through a pile.
So overall it was ok, but not as speedy as I had hoped.

If it is anything like the Sears pick up, UGH, now that is definitely a nightmare. They had a drive up spot where you call a number and they bring it out to you in your car. My order was wrong so I had to go in anyway.
Hope Kohl's is better!

You'd think whoever is gathering the items would put them in a bag.

This is what men are for. If I tell mine to buy a can of evaporated milk, he comes back with a brick of cream cheese. Ok, it's not that bad, but I usually have DH pick up my in-store pickups. He doesn't mind because it's easier than getting the wrong item, then going back again later to return/exchange/get the right item.
My PetSmart web pickup experience sucked. A. They often have lower prices in-store than on their website; B., the fish tank I got had a plastic part that was cracked (which we found out when we got it home and unpacked it, so we had to go back, grr, and C, The bag of gravel in my order was one that had split open and been taped back shut. No, Damn It. If I'm buying something new at a big box store, I want a new one, not a scratch-and-dent item they couldn't sell to a walk-in customer so they're pawning it off on an unsuspecting web pickup customer who is in a hurry. If I want used items, I know where to find them and I'll pay used prices then. But I'm a snotty retail shopper and I won't take open or resealed boxes, clothes that look to have been re-tagged, etc. I'll sift through the shoe rack to find the box of shoes in my size that haven't yet been tried on. I'll remove several ice creams and take the one in the middle (it's coldest because the other products are insulating it). I take the latest expiration dates too, especially on dairy. I don't take dented cans. With food items that can break (like a box of crackers or cookies), I never take the first one on the shelf. It's probably been handled the most. If it fell on the floor, it would have been put back right in front. So I take the second one.
I tend to way overthink mundane things.
This is why I like needlework!

They are doing a HUGE push for online ordering and pick up in store
The employees were talking about it and how they need to pull merchandise right away to guarantee it is in stock--if not at your store it could take longer as they could pull from another store that says they have stock
I know it is completely trial and error and some employees are having a hard time with all of it
