That looks delicious, mashupmom ! Tonight...not sure. I don't want to cook, so maybe sandwiches & soup? We have a bunch of chicken breast lunchmeat we need to use up - anyone have ideas for it other than a regular old sandwich? Wraps or a chef salad

club with bacon and swiss, or baked: like with croissant or puffed pastry maybe? DS has been wanting BLTs but he's working tonight so I will save that till tomorrow I guess.
Found some meatballs in the freezer I should use so I tossed in my little baby crock pot with EE chili sauce and Welch's grape jelly. I'll make some rice and green beans to go with it. Probably a bit sweet for DH but he will get over it. I also have some butter out to soften to make some banana bread later. Cold weather makes me seek comfort food.

The only other thing I had thought of was putting them in the oven & melting cheese on top of the sandwiches LOL I have butter out for banana bread, too! Now to just get around to making it...

Must be banana bread week- that's my plan for tomorrow. Mini-loaves. DD bailed on me & went to her dad's. Picking up burgers instead because I've been out Christmas shopping all day & wasn't prepared to cook.

I love red beans & rice! Never made it tho. Super simple, you can spice it up as much as you want the basic recipe is kidney beans, let them soak overnight, next day cover beans with water and enough water to cover the ham Bone add in green pepper, onion, you can grate or add in pieces, add fat from a pound of bacon, I also add the bacon, add left over ham, if you want garlic, let it come to a boil, then simmer for a few hours until beans are creamy. My kids love it, my fil decided to add booze to his, he said he read that is what southerners do, my recipe is from my dad who grew up on Louisiana, he never added booze.
