Today I stopped in a WalMart that I don't normally shop at. I was buying a variety of things, but my main couponing agenda was to use up some of the $10/3 and $5/2 Gas-X coupons.
I used 4 of the $10 coupons and 4 of the $5 coupons plus two other coupons that totaled $1.50.
The cashier was great, after each set of items she scanned the corresponding coupon. No beeps, no troubles. When she got to the end of my order it called for manager assistance. I am sure that was due to the fact that I had over $50 in coupons. Right in their policy it states that the system will prompt for supervisor verification if coupons exceed $50.
Lo and behold the supervisor that came over to assist was someone I knew from Dominick's in Oswego. It has been years since I have seen her, but she literally used to stalk me when I went in Dominick's. I even quit shopping there for awhile until I heard she was transferred to another location. She always dropped whatever she was doing and would come to "bag" my groceries so that she could see what I was doing. She would question damn near everything. Laughingly, she was a customer service rep. I heard some time ago that she was fired by Dominick's for doing something wrong with money. I don't know if she was outright stealing, but there was something improper going on.
When she walked up to my register today I about had a coronary on the spot. I detest this woman.
Immediately she said I couldn't use my Gas-X coupons because the value of the coupon exceeded the amount of the items. I of course explained to her that according to WM coupon policy, I was in the right. She then proceeded on her walkie to try to get security to come to the register because I was trying to "steal" from WalMart. Over and over she is trying to get the head of security to come over. I keep looking at the nice cashier like WTF? and she gives me the same look back. Eventually someone on the radio tells the bitxx that whoever she is looking for is on break. I was stunned, shocked, horrified! I am an honest person and would NEVER steal anything! I try to give her my copy of WalMart's coupon policy and she REFUSED to look at it! Seriously? I can understand that you may not know the policy, but now you are even refusing to learn the policy. At that point I told her I wanted to see the MOD. The MOD came right over and the nasty supervisor immediately scurried away. It took the MOD a moment to figure out what was going on and then she was like "so what is the problem"? She approved the transaction and apologized for the way I was treated. I told her I will not step foot in that store again now that I know xxx works there. I told her how she used to treat me at Dominick's. The MOD said she hoped I would be back and not to let xxx keep me from coming in.
So, what would you do? I will most likely send an email to corporate. Looking for any advice on who to contact or what to say.
