The bed right now is too big and oddly shaped, so we are going to have someone put down sod. The neighbor texted DH and asked him for some of the rock. DH said to come get some. The neighbor said there was a wheelbarrow in their garage that he could come and get and then put the rock around the trees in his backyard. We both don't think the neighbor was entirely kidding. If he asks for rock delivery again, he might just get pink rock...

DS and I trimmed the tall grasses yesterday. I cleaned the remainder of the large bed. Moved a blackberry plant and put tomato cages around them.
Need to move some dirt today.

The yard waste people come today, so I'll have an empty bin to fill up with the last of the 3 big shrubs we had in front of our house! Then, we have 3 bushes, a small tree and some more shrubs!

I'm so excited to garden again this year. I actually started seedlings for the first time, but had to throw them out as they got moldy. I must've been over zealous watering LOL. Just checked the garden, and the strawberries plants are showing some greens. Hopefully will do well this year. Blueberries were a dud last year. Anyone have good luck with blueberries? Planning tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, kale, spag squash, cantaloupe, honeydew, peas, beans, carrots and going to plant pumpkins for the first time this year. Will be fun for the kids to see them from babies

I joined the gardening group at church. After my 100% failure rate last year anything will be an improvement. The two guys running it are retired so they'll stay on top of things. Here's what they are planning. It was only $30 for my share plus an hour or so each week May to Aug. I can ask for things to be added, but nothing comes to mind. I'm open to suggestions.
Tomatoes Cherry Tomatoes Radishes Lettuce Cucumbers Pickling Cucumbers Spinach Zucchini Eggplant Green Beans Sweet Peppers Jalopeno Peppers Kale Swiss Chard Carrots Beets Peas Corn Squash: Straightneck Summer Delicata Buttercup Spaghetti Melons Watermelon Pumpkin Herbs: Spearmint Sage Thyme Chives Basil Parsley Oregano Cilantro Rosemary Dill

So, if I buy plants now, but don't plan on planting until mid May, what do I do with the plants now...? Lol I can't put them inside - no room, not enough sun, & cats- I thought maybe I could put them on our cart, & wheel them out in the sun everyday & put them in the garage at night..?
