Anyone have basket ideas for an 11 year old boy? I'm done with the other kids, but stumped on him. Looking for 2 semi bulky items under $10ish so that his basket looks similar to the other kids. All he has so far is candy. $1 body wash at Dollar Store? I got DS Spiderman body wash because I found cheap body wash for the girls at Kohls. Or other dollar store items he enjoys? Bag of balloons?

DS6 ended up with Skylanders Spyros Adventure Empire of Ice and a Lego book with mini figure. DS2 ended up with Planes Duplo and an Easter book. Both boys got a chocolate bunny, three chocolate bars and four eggs with giant coins. Then there is the hundred (maybe two hundred) eggs I have for the yard tomorrow. That show keep them wired for a year or two.

Happy kids today, so I'm glad I did baskets. I ended up with flip flops for all of them, books for 2 of them, body wash for 2 of them, a bikini for one of them, chocolate, candy, peanut butter for one of them, earrings for 2 of them & a Moroccan oil set of 8 products for one of them. (DD16, not surprised are you? ) Other little random things I can't remember now. @@ Just had brunch with the family & Easter is officially over for the day.

So I need to vent a bit. I should've specified that my kids were happy- my stepdaughters can't even bother to text me after they open theirs. (I bundled their baskets in cellophane for transportation purposes.) I expected to wake up to a "thanks" text. This drives me INSANE about them. I almost always find stuff in last year's Christmas stocking, when we moved I found SO MUCH CRAP in their room, unopened & never used- lip gloss, nail polish, candy, socks, bath stuff, etc. It's just so WEIRD to me that they don't use anything (this is ongoing for the 11 years I've been in charge of their gifts- it's not a new thing) or say thanks. I mean really, telling me to F-off would AT LEAST be acknowledgement of receipt. I just think it's rude. I LOVE giving people gifts & I don't think it's asking too much for a simple "thank you!" Every year I say I'm not doing the "little" holidays for them, but then I feel SO guilty only doing for my kids that I do something for them, too. I figure this will naturally end when they are done with college, so I guess I should just suck it up for the next 2-3 years. It just bugs me.

That would drive me crazy too DF. Maybe start including a SASE in the gift each time?

My niece never uses the Amazon gift cards I send her... My sisters kids are all teenagers and I don't see them much so I never know what to get them. They have everything. I even asked and resent her gift card a year ago. Luckily on Amazon you can see if they used it and resend it. In going to resend it to myself! Only one of the 4 sends me thank you notes.

Just recycle it every year.

My DD 18 and DD 21 had to find their baskets outside! They sure looked funny having to look around for them! I got them cami's,C9 sport socks, McDonald's gift cards, and a few Reese's eggs. They seemed happy with it! My DH got a new rake since he lost ours!

That's a fun idea, Jubes! Yeah- I think I'm done with the little gifts for them. They just aren't appreciative. Their mother is a real piece of work & I know she doesn't do anything for them, so I don't know why they are so awkward about it when I do. I always have- this isn't new. I've even sent them new outfits, stuff from amazon for their dorms, even bought sd20 a new laptop- NOTHING unless DH asks them. It's ODD. They did not thank dh. He would tell me. It's annoying. I think next year I'll donate chicks to a farming single mother in Peru or something. Heifer International. At least THEY will use the chickens.

So I had not planned on an Easter basket, but when I was shopping Saturday I got DD2 a big snickers bunny, some hersheys cookies & cream bunnies, reeses pnut butter eggs, a bubble wand, a little ty lamb, some small pkgs of cheezits, small pkg of easter grass and some glo stick bunny ears all on clearance. She had some kind of meltdown about her hair Sunday morning and did not want to go to her grandmother's for easter. Brought the basket up, helped her fix her hair and all was well. Geeez she is 20 going on 10.
