Been singing Here comes Peter cottontail this morning. Always loved singing it to DS when he was little but I always added his name.
I just love this bunny.

They have Sponge Bob eggs at Dollar Tree! My kids, even the 20 year old, LOVE Sponge Bob!
I have not had to do many baskets as we typically visit my parents for Easter and my Mom does the baskets. We have decided to stop going for Easter because of the college kids. It's 5 hours from here plus what driving needs to be done to get them home. Of course this year, we have Cubs vs. Cardinals tickets and it's opening day, so the visit was out no matter what!
I need to come up with some family traditions for Easter. Since we were always at my parents we had their traditions. It should be interesting as I am asking everyone here what they would like their Easter to be like.

I really need to start thinking about Easter. My mind has just been filled with other stuff lately. Not sure if DD19 will be coming home or if we will try to get down to see her. I probably should ship an Easter basket to her just in case we don't meet up. Of course if I send her stuff, the roommate will probably just steal it anyway.

I'm halfway through the 864 eggs for church. They have to be ready for this weekend so I need to finish tomorrow. I dropped off the toddler ones this morning so I don't have to worry about them being discovered and opened. I think I may buy a bags game for the family Easter present and DS2 has a book. DS6 has a Lego mini figure book. Checking out Oriental Trading tonight for last minute inspiration.

904 eggs done for church. I just went on a candy buying spree so I think I have everything I need for baskets and Easter egg hunt in the backyard plus little gifts for DS2 to take to daycare and DS6 to take to school. So probably 200 eggs to go. I have everything done for the Sunday deadline and most of it is already at church. Next deadline, Wednesday.

canadia How are the chicks doing? Did they get named? Any luck with the daycare situation?

Didn't name the chicks. They are getting huge. I think the boys are over them, but at least they learnt a little bit.
And I'm refusing to acknowledge the daycare situation. At this rate I'll need to start working from home come May 1. I feel like Goldilocks. Closes too early, too far away, too expensive.

Do you want a traditional day care or a home based day care? If home based, maybe check the bulletin boards at local grocery stores, churches, pre-schools, etc. Even Craigslist for home based. You can still check them out as you would any care giver.
What are the other displaced parents doing for their kids?

Anyone have basket ideas for an 11 year old boy? I'm done with the other kids, but stumped on him. Looking for 2 semi bulky items under $10ish so that his basket looks similar to the other kids. All he has so far is candy.
