I find myself in Meijer more and more lately. First, because they're the only pharmacy that has a decent rewards/bonus program and now I have monthly meds to fill, and second, because, well, the sales have been pretty good lately.
If you're a frequent Meijer shopper, do you have a Meijer CC? Either the Meijer MasterCard, or the Meijer Store MasterCard?
If you don't have their CC, why not?
What are the perks of having this? Are there certain days you get grocery discounts that Meijer MPerks member don't get? I see the reward certificates: spend $1500 and get a coupon for 5% off groceries and one for 15% off GM, which I think is kind of meh. I see the gas discount, but $.05/gallon isn't that hot. My Amazon Visa gives me 2% cashback at gas stations every day. at $3.50 a gallon, that's $.07 back per gallon. Plus the rotating cashback categories that often offer 5% rebates on gas from Chase Freedom and Discover beat either of those.
Anyway, am I missing some great perks here?

I don't have one. We only have one credit card. It's a Sierra Trading Post Rewards Visa. We shop at Sierra a lot so I like earning free gift cards to use there. So I've never really looked into the Meijer card or any other store cards (besides Kohls). I'm pretty sure that Meijer does days (Friday/Saturday) where you get 5% off everything when you use your Meijer card. I think I've seen Shoppers Apprentice post about it. I'm thinking it's about once a month. Not sure that would push me over the edge for signing up though.

I shop Meijer as much as you guys and I also don't have a Meijers CC. We have a Capital One card that is used for a family business & accumulates miles. Since becoming a SAHM I use debit only. My Redcard is a debit. I am just not interested in juggling a bunch of cards. I am financialy lazy.

thanks, yeah, it just doesn't seem that lucrative. I got a catalina to save $25 when you open a Meijer CC and thought I'd look into it. I thought you got 5% off all the time, which I'd sign up for. But after reading the fine print I see it's only a few days a month, so pffft on that.

I'm sorry, your question was specifically about grocery discount days and it appears that the next discount days discounts are for general merchandise and apparel.

Please don't be sorry. You did nothing wrong. Repeating correct information never hurts anyone. It's the posts where someone doesn't read something I post, then asks the question I just answered, that are kind of .

Lucky I just did this deal. I couldn't pass on $25 worth of free groceries. You also get a 10% coupon on your first purchase. I may never use it again, but thought the offer was great. We don't have the best credit, but did it on line and was approved immediately and got the card 5 days later. I haven't used it yet, but have big plans for it. I have a couple extra cat's for the $25 off if anyone is interested.

We have a Meijer CC. We got it years ago when the deal was much better than it is now. After the initial freebies after signing up you used to get a coupon for $xx/$xx purchase after spending a certain amount, and they had a gas deal going most of the time like 10 cents off a gallon. Over the years we have had it (prob. 5 or 6 years now) they have gradually changed the incentives. Now the card basically sucks. The initial sign up right now is pretty good, but there are not many incentives after that.
