Might tell Kristine to try this We have done the tie eggs (we blew them out so we could keep them) The shaving cream eggs (same thing, blew out the eggs to keep them) She really likes trying different techniques

I don't have kids but thought this was a cute idea. A friend whose kids are in their teens still makes a family tradition of coloring eggs. She has a plain white sheet that they use to cover the table. Of course it is stained from many years of colors & messes. Everyone signs & dates it every year as well. Each year just bringing it out brings smiles & happy memories

No one in my family has wanted to help for years now ... but they love the pretty colors and the taste of hard boiled eggs on Easter morning ♥♥♥ I still go to church on Holy Saturday for the tradional Blessing of the Easter Baskets, Swienconka in Polish, with a variety of foods symbolizing different things... easteuropeanfood.about.com/od/polisheaster/a/blessing-baskets-swieconka.htmI love hearing about the special ways people celebrate holidays and holy days... Selene used to use crayons to write names of family and friends on her Easter eggs... when dipped in dye, the crayon would resist the dye and the name would show through... I always knew they had a Mary, aka "Woof" egg in my honor ♥

I don't decorate for holidays other than Christmas (nor do I have kids) but I've always wanted to do the silk tie thing.

ooops, sorry... i don't know if I mentioned my nickname before... actually "Woof" was a lot of things... I was "Woof" to Selene... am still "Woof" to her DH... am "Auntie Woof" to Miranda woof was our hello... woof was our goodbye... woof was an exclamation... Selene's phone call identifier ring thingy for me was a dog barking... her avatar for me was a picture of Lucy ♥...woof was the theme of much gift giving.....she got me a Christmas mug with a dog /woof picture... I gave her a tshirt, actually in honor of rescue dogs LOL, that said "You had me at woof"; after she passed away, when her DH asked me what i would like to have of hers, i asked for that shirt and now I wear it as a night shirt ♥♥♥ I can't hear "woof"... see "woof" ... without thinking of us ♥ that's a lovely idea, mom.... no matter how good my intentions are though, i doubt it'll work out... it'll be a crazyyyyyy week... hundreds of Easter cookies to bake and decorate, my BIL-to-be's RCIA ceremony (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) at the Holy Saturday Vigil and my birthday, i doubt I'll have time to drive out there and i suspect she'd rather decorate in her own familiar surroundings than come to my house...

This looks easy and fast. My kids quit decorating eggs a few years ago. Maybe I can get DS17 to help. He has been clingy lately. Maybe the idea of going away to college is getting to him. I mean he is going a whole 15 miles from home.

The tie one, the eggs turn out so cute. My Mom still has them displayed from years ago when dd made them for her. It is fun to see how the patterns transpire Mary, I will pray for you and how hard this time of year is. I guess you will never know if Miranda would come or not unless you invited her. Though you know your time frame, you know how busy you are etc Is there anyway you could do something with her for your birthday?

Thanks, mom! I do want to plan a date with her... I just saw her a couple of weeks ago and know she's been busy with senior year stuff, but maybe she can fit in old Auntie Woof LOL Maybe a Chinese restaurant half way between us... Selene and I used to meet there... she and Alec and I have met there since then ♥
