I just got a sale ad for it and had no idea they were opening one! There are so many grocery stores within a 5 mile radius of me now.....Jewel, Marianos, Aldi, Valli, Village Marketplace, Piggly Wiggly and a Caputos scheduled to open in awhile.
I'm wondering if Piggly has good prices or just good opening deals. Anyone?

Daycare owner went there - she said the prices were higher than what she expected and not really many grand opening specials (even with the $5/$50 we got)

I heard the prices were high. I guess the grand opening is this week and they might have some specials then
From what people were saying though, they were not impressed

Is there that big of a profit margin in grocery stores? What do they think is going to happen with all the stores in the area?
Thanks for the feedback. Even the ad I got today wasn't that great. Eggs $1 limit 1! I get them from Walgreens when they are 99 cents and pick up 6 at a time.

I drove by today and was surprised to see the store open. I never got an ad. I guess it is because I am in South Wheaton? Shrugs...

according to their website on fb they said this: the grand opening celebration will be taking place on March 22nd and 23rd
My mother in law lives in Carol Stream, she did not receive anything.

I'm up in Bartlett and received a flyer. Maybe targeting us since our Dominicks down the street closed down and the store is right on the border of Hanover Park.

I just went yesterday. 10am on a Saturday morning and hardly any waiting to check out! That says something right there. The store was clean and there were lots of people to help, but there was nothing that made me want to return. I got chicken wings for .99 a pound, that's why I went.
They are hiring. Anyone know anyone who works at a Piggly? My hours keep getting cut at work, so I'm wondering when I have to do something else. I make $10-$14 an hour, but that's when I am actually working and with the warmer weather coming up, it will be less.
