This year I am going to makeover the pieces in my home! I am also acquiring a couple new ones to repurpose...pics to come.
How do you paint furniture without having brush lines? What do you use to protect the paint once it is finished?
What projects have you done/plan to do?

I have some of the other half's furniture that I would like to paint. We also would like to paint his kitchen cabinets & put new hardware on them, whenever we redo the kitchen.
Our next big project is to redo the laundry room.

The last thing I painted was the dresser in DD15's room and it came out the best of everything I've done. I used this primer: The small can is plenty. I did 3 coats of better quality paint, which is thicker & kind of self-leveling to minimize brush strokes. Hobby Lobby has the BEST selection of knobs if you want new knobs!

I totally agree on the Hobby Lobby knobs! They were 50% off last week but I imagine they go on sale all the time. Found these on clearance. DD chose the black/pink to go with her "new" desk. There was a ton of clearance too- these were only 1.36 ea. Saw these and fell in love. They'd be great on some type of potting bench if I were the gardening type!

I would never suggest somebody give their children away... Sell them, maybe. But give them away, never.

Love that night stand/dresser! Can't wait to see it finished. I have not painted any furniture yet, just stained but would love to hear what worked best for you when your done!
And I do agree, I get all my knobs at hobby lobby with a few clearance exceptions at pier one.

Nice job, Red! It's a whole new table! What room are you using it in? Thanks! My bedroom, it will be my side table. We have a tan, chocolate, and red/orange mainly in there, quilt and matching bed skirt, headboard, curtains...it's been stark for too long, time to make it cozy

Not my project, but my cousin just posted these pics on FB of her kitchen cabinet re-do… She used Annie Sloan Chalk paint, no sanding, brushed on one coat of paint, dried in an hour, rubbed on Annie Sloan dark wax. She claims it was "easy". Maybe someone will use this as inspiration to re-do cabinets or a bathroom vanity.
