I'm sure there's posts like this, but I'm not having a lot of luck searching. I'm trying to get back into using the crockpot and looking for new recipes. About the only ones I routinely use the crockpot for are whole chicken, pot roast, and pulled pork. Looking for tried and true favorites. Preferably budget friendly (cheap cuts of meat and not too many ingredients), kid friendly, and not a million calories.

Beef "tips" ...this is what DH always call this-
1- 2 lbs round steak ( or other similar cut)cut into bite size pieces 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 envelope onion soup mix
Mix the first 3 in the crock pot then add up to 1 soup can of 7 up or coke, use at least half. Don't mix initially after adding the pop. Let the fizz do the work.
Cook on low 8 hours or 4 hours on high. I generally add 1 can of mushrooms(drained) at the end when mixing.
Serve over wide egg noodles or mashed potatoes if you prefer. A little salty for some tastes because of the soups but we never really cook with salt in general. My kids and DH have always loved this. I try to use whatever pop around that is caffeine free, not red or orange, etc but it does taste good with the coke! When I gave DH the options of what was on the menu for the week he picked this first ( over steak no less)

DH does not do well with chicken for the most part but we like this on occasion: www.food.com/recipe/crock-pot-chicken-with-black-beans-cream-cheese-89204We do a corned beef in the crock fairly often: "New England Boiled Dinner" ( buy corned beef on sale and freeze). I will cook all day on low with the seasoning pack and enough water to cover. Add in carrots, potatoes and some cabbage if desired about an hour before you serve. ( alternately you could use the liquid to boil the veg stovetop if you are in a really big hurry to get dinner on the table- I keep the beef warm on a plate by covering with the crock pot cover. Serve the veggies with butter and pass the pepper. This IS my favorite dish in the crock pot- it always reminds me of the first time DH and I cooked together in college.

I love the crockpot! I can't wait to see what you all have to share!
A favorite recipe of mine- take a whole chicken, season however you want, stuff an onion in the cavity. Cook on low for 8 hours. Boom. Done. Easy. I usually rub oil on the breast under the skin cuz it does dry out a bit, IMO. When it's done, the meat just falls off the bone. I pull the bones out, throw em back in the crock, cover with water, & leave it on low for 8 hours- now you have bone stock!

I've done that, too, clippin- breast down. It helps but it's still usually dry lol

My kids do not like the crockpot. They call it the crap pot. They are not big fans of food mushed together or soupy, but they do like soup! So far all I can get them to eat is a roasted chicken and I put foil balls at the bottom of the pot so it's not sitting in its own juices.
I like the crockpot!!! I just can never find ideas of something they will actually eat from it.
Focadima are you ever on pinterest? I've found some good low calorie crockpot recipes there.

I have not tried it, but my girlfriend says it is easy and great A turkey breast A packet of onion soup mix
That is it--the juice from the breast will dissolve the onion soup
She did say some people will put in a small amount of water
Let it cook on low all day
She claims it is easy and delicious!
