In IL only NWPN I will send an envie of goodies including this WT to a random person. You may only enter once. please enter by sharing a favorite Kathy story. When I finished school for esthetics, I couldn't afford to take the test. She knew this, and when I sent her a box of FARR items, she overpaid me via PP- the exact amount of this test. I am sooo happy with my career and with where I work, and Kathy had a direct influence <3

I enjoyed her wisdom and the way that she presented herself. She never made me "think" that she was a know it all. All of her wisdom was given out to help someone or make their lives easier.

I can't win cause I live in MO- but still want to share my fav Kathy story. It was last valentines day and Kathy told us to put on a sexy bra a take a pic of our boobies and send it to hubbies. I remember some people were appalled but I thought it was great and of course totally did it. And of course dh welcomed the surprise! As a matter of fact I'm going to do it every year and smile and think of her- lol. Someone also posted that they sent it to the wrong "James" in their phone book- Hahahahahahaha

Kathy & I met in person one time. We went to lunch at The Patio. That was the day she told me to look for Velma from Scooby Doo. So while we were having lunch & chatting she was talking all about Baby & his travel baseball & soccer teams and she was just GUSHING about him. And I thought, "Wow. For not being his actual 'mother' she really is his mom!" She was just such a terrific person. I still cannot get over what happened.

My last conversation with Kathy was on here about a sticker that was on my kid's shirt and had gone thru the wash. She immediately responded and said put oil on shirt to get the sticker off and then rub with Dawn to get the oil off. Said I might have to wash it twice. Sticker came off beautifully, but I did have oil residue after 1st wash. I washed it the 2nd time the day of her funeral. It came out completely clean.
I miss her!!! I miss the conversations we would have when she came to pick up WAGS items.

I'm another one Kathy helped behind the scenes. I'm still not ready to share the details, but she helped out with information on a number of occasions and I'm in a much better place financially due to her guidance. Unfortunately she passed before the icing was on the cake, so I hope she knows that everything turned out well.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Kathy in person, but she touched me in the most personal way possible... in the "October is Breast Cancer Awareness" thread she started, unbelievably, about 12 hours before she died... she posted two emoticons for me... the little guy holding out "for you" flowers and the pink cancer ribbon/candle one, in memory of Selene A simple gesture that meant so very much; she knew how much I miss Selene and reached out to say , i know it hurts and i'm thinking about you ♥ It never would have occurred to any of us in a million years, that within hours, Kathy would be "meeting" Selene and we would be grieving for Kathy herself. Thank You for this thread, red... it's a beautiful tribute to our friend ♥

Kathy sent me some items for my son, I did not ask for anything, but she knew I had a boy that would love it. I was shocked when this huge package appeared. Later she showed up,at my house with an awesome bike for him. She had told me the bike was pricey to make sure I locked it up,if we went somewhere. We went to a friends house, and a few of the dads said, where did you get that vi,e? I explained it was a raok, and they said, do you know how much that bike is worth, we had those growing up, they are built to last. My son has no,idea the value of the bike all he cared about was he had a nice bike to,ride!! Another time, when we were just chatting outside the house, she knew my dh worked at cdh, so we were talking about benefits etc, I explained about a neighbor having a rough time, she goes to her car, pulls out stock pile items and hands me money to give to them, out of the goodness of her heart!! We spoke about this site, and how she was just happy to help others. She shared some wisdom as far as staying out of debt and what to,do. And how to,be content with where you are, you may not have a fancy house, but look what you do,have. We spoke about teaching out children the value of not giving them everything, so they could appreciate what they have. Ok. The tears are coming!

She was always helpful when I was having struggles with DS (we shared many messages about the joys of raising sons who we didn't birth)
She always seemed to have the right words and path to follow.

I met Kathy once in real life, talked to her frequently through pms, texts, emails. I drove some RR stuff out to her around this time 2 years ago. She said she was happy to buy it from me, but I should sell it myself. She showed me her ebay and amazon accounts and gave me a basic tutorial. We spent a while talking. I started slow, but it was her encouragement and help that made an enormous difference in mine and my family's lives. I have always felt a profound gratitude for her willingness to share when she didn't have to.
Every time I find something that gets hot online, I want to message her a heads up. Because that is what we used to do.
